Water Wheel Fire & Medical District: Excellence in Service
The Water Wheel Fire & Medical District is a beacon of professionalism, we are staffed 24/7 by dedicated professionals committed to serving our community.
Our district spans approximately 52 square miles, nestled 9 miles northeast of Payson, Arizona, at the base of the majestic Mogollon Rim. Situated at an elevation exceeding 5,100 feet above sea level, we are surrounded by the natural beauty of the Tonto National Forest and serve 16 small mountain
communities.
Our district is home to a permanent population of around 4,000 residents, primarily consisting of retired or semi-retired individuals. During the summer months, our population surges to nearly 20,000, attracted by the recreational opportunities in our area and the presence of two large Scout Camps.
As an all-risk response agency, we provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) first response services.
